Imagine you're having a remote appointment with your doctor for a very personal health issue.

Your doctor is a tech enthusiast, and is proudly wearing the new Apple Watch with all the recording features enabled.

You don't see the "Audible and visible signals for Live Rewind", because you don't see your doctor's wrist on videochat or on speakerphone.

The "Omitted content" safeguard fails to detect the sensitive conversation, because none of the pre-selected keywords are detected.

"What about all the privacy laws protecting me?", you claim in distress.

Sadly, your doctor is unaware and thinks "surely Apple respects all the laws by default?"

The medical clinic isn't informed about privacy risks related to new technologies, and hasn't implemented any training or policies about it yet.

Your sensitive health data is collected by Apple's new features, stored on their servers, blissfully unaware of the infringements to your consent, your privacy, and all the laws supposed to protect you.

This is only one scenario of the many surveillance nightmares we might hear about in the coming months and years.

Mostly I'm glad because these younger Gen z kids are annoying AF with their 'This looks like AI' reactions to 9/11 videos online.

I have never wanted to reach through some comment sections and smack some faces so hard.

Kids, we've been watching these videos for 25 years.

I watched a lot of 9/11 videos last night.

They told me stories I had forgotten:
The Canadian island that took in all those diverted passenger planes.
The bodegas in lower Manhattan that sheltered fleeing New Yorkers as the first tower fell.
The cameramen who kept filming everything because they knew it was important.
The daycare women who saved all those kids -- even though alot of those kids' parents didn't make it.
The biggest maritime evacuation in maritime history.
The brave manager of the restaurant at the top of the tower on 106 and her heroic but futile attempt to save her crew.
The way people organized themselves to make sure folks from the same neighborhoods made it home in groups, on foot.
The guy who carried that woman in a wheelchair down 68 flights and saved both their lives.
All those first responders running up toward the fire and heat, and the way they surely knew they weren't coming back.
The search and rescue Rottweiler crew.
The kids+teachers on the Pentagon flight.

Ich habe noch nie von Videokonferenzen, Blogging oder Social Media per XMPP gehört. Ich kenne es nur als Messenger. Mit ATProto beschäftige ich mich, seitdem es #Eurosky gibt. Wie komplex das Protokoll funktioniert, weiß ich nicht, bin nur Nutzer. Die Anwendungen sind sehr einfach zu nutzen.

The team is simultaneously changing manager, tactical model, defensive structure, attacking relationships and personnel. Maybe even the diet and the shoes as well. A match like this is thus guaranteed to contain streaks where the system looks less than the sum of its parts.

Made for slow going at points & the second half didn’t feel great.

1. Anyone pushing "stochastic parrots framing" shouldn't be taken seriously.

2. People "denying" the machine god narrative, like me, are akin to anti-vaxxers & climate deniers.

These are things they're saying to the left politicians they've captured, like Bernie Sanders who's being advised on "AI" by eugenicist doomsday cult leaders.
